Salam Postcard

Peace. Pronounced: Salam. سلام

I’ve always loved the beauty of the Arabic language and calligraphy. Over the years, I began experimenting with reinterpreting traditional Arabic calligraphy in my own style, allowing the brush to sweep to the left and create clean, almost Japanese-style strokes that give it a modern feel.

I believe peace is something everyone should strive for. For me, peace also means peace of mind, kindness, letting go of grudges, and going with the flow. As someone from the Arab world, where peace has often felt out of reach, I feel it’s important now more than ever for the world to find peace, too.

"Salam" is an Arabic word that simply means "peace" and is commonly used as a greeting. It also translates to "peace be upon you" when used in the full phrase "As-salamu alaykum".
